The show aims to expose an entirely new generation of Nicaraguans to commemorate the works of Joan Miró, whose work was interpreted as childlike, or childish. However, Miró was a genuine pioneer and forefather of the abstract expressionist art movement, and one of the most significant artists of the 20th century.
In the show “Tribute To The Legacy Of Joan Miró” Kueffel will present 14 of his paintings and engravings that were inspired by Miró. The works were created by the artist in 1996 and 1997 and the majority were exhibited from 2 -22 of September, 1996 at the Museum Hus in Morsum/Sylt-Ost, Germany and in 1998 at Galerie Diferente in the City of Hamburg with an introduction and remarks by well-known art historian Prof. Dr. Hans Theodor Flemming.
